Proven Strategies and Tips to Crack NEET 2021

In this article we will discuss some proven strategies and tips to crack NEET 2024 exam. NEET is the only national level medical entrance examination to get admission to various medical courses like MBBS and BDS in India. Large number of students appear for NEET and there is surge in number every year. Therefore, to qualify the same, well planned preparation strategy is crucial. Here are few tips which will help students to score good marks and crack NEET 2024.

1. Be familiar with the NEET latest syllabus and exam pattern.

2. Collect high quality study material, NCERT books are very important.

3. Create a realistic study timetable and follow it strictly. Don’t hesitate to revise the timetable as per your preparation level.

4. Analyze previous years question papers and filter important topics.

5. Solve NEET model papers, previous years question papers and practice mock tests. It will boost your confidence, accuracy and speed.

6. Prepare notes while learning, this will help you in quick revision.

7. Concentrate on weaker sections.

8. Take study breaks, do regular exercise and eat healthy diet. Remember – a healthy mind resides in a healthy body.

9. Attempt question carefully, every wrong attempt will cost you 5 marks (- 4 marks for attempting the question and -1 negative mark for wrong answer).

Which subject you should focus more for NEET?

NEET consist of 180 questions (720 marks) from all three subjects. Physics and Chemistry section contains 45 questions (180 marks) each, while, Biology section will comprise of 90 questions (360 marks). So, more weight-age should be given to Biology.

Biology score will decide qualifying mark for selection (BIOLOGY IS A DECIDER)

  1. To get qualifying marks i.e. 50% for general category and for 45% for OBC/MOBC/PH/SC/ST and 40% for SC-H/ST-H and others, aspirants should plan in such a way that at least they can score –

a) 250 to 300 marks in biology i.e. correct 63 to 75 questions only out of 90 questions

b) 50 to 80 marks in chemistry i.e. correct 13 to 20 questions only out of 45 questions, and

c) 0 to 20 marks in physics, i.e. either don’t attempt or correct only 5 questions out of 45 questions

So, the total score will be 300 to 400 marks.

This is a good score to get MBBS seat in Govt. Medical College for SC-H/ST-H aspirants,  BDS in Govt. Medical College for SC/ST/PH/MOBC aspirants, MBBS/BDS in a private college or under management quota for OBC/General aspirants.

Therefore, to qualify NEET it is very important to score good marks in Biology.

Chemistry score will decide the cutoff mark of getting seat (CHEMISTRY IS A HOPE)

  1. If an aspirant really wish to get a seat in Govt. Medical College then along with Biology, he has to pay attention to Chemistry as well. Aspirants should plan in such a way that at least they can score

a) 300 to 320 marks in biology i.e. correct 75 to 80 questions only out of 90 questions

b) 120 to 140 marks in chemistry i.e. correct 30 to 35 questions only out of 45 questions, and

c) 16 to 20 marks in physics, i.e. correct 4 to 5 questions  only out of 45 questions

Therefore, the total will be 436 to 480 marks.

This is a good score to get MBBS seat in reputed Govt. Medical College for SC-H/ST-H aspirants,  MBBS in Govt. Medical College for SC/ST/PH/MOBC aspirants, MBBS/BDS in a Govt. College for OBC/General students.

Physics score will help to boost rank (PHYSICS IS A JACKPOT)

  1. The aspirants who wish better rank in NEET should pay equal attention to all three subjects out of which physics will bring them the jackpot. The aspirants should plan in such a way that at least they can score

a) 340 to 350 marks in biology i.e. correct 85 to 88 questions only out of 90 questions

b) 150 to 170 marks in chemistry i.e. correct 38 to 43 questions only out of 45 questions, and

c) 130 to 150 marks in physics, i.e. correct 33 to 38 questions  only out of 45 questions

Therefore, the total will be 620 to 670 marks.

This is rank getting score, by getting this score one can study in top most Medical College in India and can expect to get a chance to practice and placement in reputed Medical Hospitals.
