How many chromosomes will the cell have <strong>at G1 phase, after S-phase<\/strong> and <strong>after M-phase?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ans:<\/strong> <strong>At G1-phase<\/strong> number of chromosome remain same therefore it is 16.<br \/>\n<strong>After S-phase<\/strong> number of chromosome remain same but DNA number doubles therefore it is 16.<br \/>\n<strong>After M-phase<\/strong> number of chromosome remain same but DNA number halves therefore it is 16.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q.2.<\/strong> What will be the DNA content of cells <strong>at G1 phase, after S-phase<\/strong> and <strong>at G2- phase,<\/strong> if the content <strong>after M-phase<\/strong> is 2C.<br \/>\n<strong>Ans:<\/strong> If after M-phase DNA content is 2C,<br \/>\nThen, <strong>at G1- phase<\/strong> it is 2C, because neither chromosome number or DNA content increases or decreases in this phase.<br \/>\n<strong>After S-phase<\/strong> DNA content become 4C, because after this phase number of chromosome remain same but DNA number doubles.<br \/>\n<strong>At G2- phase<\/strong> DNA content remains as 4C, because after S-phase no change in numbers of chromosome and DNA content.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCERT Page No 164 Onion has 16 chromosomes in each cell.
